Derrick has a long history of promoting progress at every milestone and meeting scheduled construction objectives. He is a determined senior project manager at PREMIER’s Southern California office, who uses creative problem solving and critical thinking to bring client visions to life.
Derrick is a lifelong resident of the Golden State. He is a multi-talented team lead and is passionate about helping businesses succeed. He is as comfortable working with fellow project managers and superintendents as he is with top contractors and consultants. He is a hands-on, driven professional who is constantly looking for new ways to creatively solve clients’ problems.
He is skilled in budgeting, estimating, change-order negotiations, value engineering, quality and cost control. He also is an expert in scheduling, recruiting, client relations, conflict resolution and is a team mentor.
In his 15 years of experience, Derrick has managed the architectural and engineering design processes and has supervised multi-disciplined teams on a wide range of diverse projects. He led the construction of a 45,000 square-foot auditorium and fine arts building for a major university, a massive 255,000 square-foot addition and improvement to the headquarters of a world-leading technology company, a 700,000 square-foot high school track renovation and a 73,650 square-foot math and technology building in Long Beach, California. Two of his projects have been LEED Gold Certified.
Currently, Derrick is working on a 500,000+ square- foot industrial distribution facility in South Bay, California, designated for LEED Gold status.
