When did you become interested in construction?
My father was Commissioner of Design and Construction for the city of New York, as well as a Certified Public Accountant. I shared his passion for the industry and from a young age his work played a significant role in my family. I entered undergrad with expectations of pursuing accounting, but eventually realized it was not the path I wanted to follow. Although my father offered me an opportunity to work for the city, I reached out to a headhunter to earn a position on my own merits. Shortly after, I began my career in the construction industry and have loved it ever since.
What is your favorite aspect of the construction industry?
I enjoy being involved in the build process and bearing witness to the growth of the development. To achieve the owner’s goals, we work diligently from inception to completion, uncovering their needs and assembling the necessary teams. It’s very rewarding working with an owner to make their idea become reality.
What projects are you currently working on?
In addition to other projects, I am currently working on a tenant improvement within a 290,063-square-foot industrial warehouse in Newark, New Jersey. Part of the process involves removing existing features such as dock doors and electrical systems, essentially building a blank canvas to create something new. In addition, the Northeast office is focusing heavily on generating new business in hospitality, residential and retail markets.
What do you like most about your job at PREMIER?
Before PREMIER, I worked for a large corporation that fostered a rigid work environment with little autonomy. Joining PREMIER was a breath of fresh air, while holding ourselves to the highest standards, I continue to be impressed with everyone’s work ethic, attention to detail and professionalism.
Where would you want to go on your next trip somewhere?
I have been a long-time, dedicated hockey fan. So, if I had to pick somewhere to visit, I would choose Canada. They have seven professional hockey teams, my favorite being the Calgary Flames. It would be fun to watch them play live with a home rink advantage.
