Oct. 14, 2024 (Vernon Hills, IL) — PREMIER Design + Build Group is proud to announce the completion of the new headquarters for Heathrow Scientific, a global leader in laboratory supplies and instruments. The 113,000-square-foot facility in Vernon Hills, Ill., serves as the central hub for the company’s manufacturing, laboratory, and office operations.
Following the demolition of an existing structure, PREMIER constructed the two-story, mixed-use building that features a large laboratory space dedicated to product design and quality control, and an outdoor dining area. The exterior of the building showcases a modern design with wood veneer and glass finishes, complemented by a distinctive canopy entrance. The facility also includes 12 dock positions and two drive-in doors for logistics needs.
Stefan Olson, Project Manager at PREMIER, highlighted the unique nature of the project: “This headquarters was designed to be more than just a workplace; it’s a space that fosters creativity, collaboration and growth. We’re proud to have partnered with Heathrow Scientific to bring their vision to life.”
Sustainability was a key focus throughout the project. The new headquarters highlights our joint commitment to environmentally responsible practices by incorporating several green building elements, including a solar array and hybrid rooftop units that use electricity instead of natural gas. The PREMIER team was thrilled when asked to provide their expertise and recommendations on environmentally conscious building practices.
