What drew you to the construction industry?
I was introduced to construction through small-scale projects I assisted on early in my career. I quickly realized that construction management was my calling—I love the dynamic nature of the work, the problem-solving involved, and the opportunity to be part of a team that brings large-scale buildings to fruition. I knew with confidence I wanted to be a part of that process.
What is the most rewarding part of your job?
The most rewarding part of my job is seeing the progress our team makes each week. Every time I walk on site, it looks different from the last time because each trade has made exponential progress in their hard work and coordination. I am amazed by the quick nature of construction and how buildings can come together in the blink of an eye through the culmination of all different scopes of work. Each phase builds upon the last, and before you know it, the job is complete. Nothing compares to seeing a project go from plans on paper to a finished structure.
What are your career aspirations?
My career aspirations are to continue on my path in construction management at PREMIER. I am beyond grateful for the opportunity to work alongside brilliant minds who help me grow each day.
What is something you have learned in your current position?
I’ve found that strong communication and a collaborative approach go a long way in keeping projects running smoothly. At the end of the day, it’s about contributing to a team where everyone’s distinct strengths make a difference.
What have you achieved thus far in your career that you are most proud of?
One of the achievements I’m most proud of is my role in our recently completed project at Goodman Logistics Center Building 4 in Santa Fe Springs, CA. I started at PREMIER on this job when we were walking through the mud, overseeing the early stages like placing rebar and pouring concrete. Week by week, I watched as the structure took shape, eventually stepping into a fully built office space and warehouse filled with natural light. Walking through a completed project and recognizing the role I played in bringing it to life is a great feeling—it’s a tangible reminder of the impact of our work.
Do you have a mentor that has helped you on this path?
My mentor, Victor Xu, works right beside me at PREMIER, and I couldn’t ask for a better guide in the industry. He has taught me everything I know about tilt-up construction, and his knowledge, patience, and leadership have been invaluable in my growth. Having a mentor who is willing to share his insights has made all the difference, and I feel incredibly lucky to have such a great resource to learn from every day.
Is there something you're excited about tackling in your career or in the industry?
Construction is an incredibly intricate field, with so many moving parts that need to align perfectly to bring a project to life. I want to deepen my understanding of every stage, as I’ve quickly recognized that there’s always something new to learn. I’ve been fortunate to acquire my skills from my great mentors, and as I progress in my career, I’m excited about the opportunity to pass that knowledge down and help guide others entering the industry.
