We embrace the opportunity to explore new ideas, approaches to projects, and problem-solving through diverse perspectives. Diverse workforces offer many benefits, explains Lisa Walwyn, Project Administrator, “I love the diversity of backgrounds our teams have and how the variety adds knowledge for us to deliver the best product and service.” With over two decades of experience, Paola Placko, PREMIER’s Preconstruction Manager, reflects on the impact of the construction industry on her career. “I've been incredibly fortunate to have had the guidance and support of numerous mentors, both men and women. Their wisdom and encouragement have been invaluable as I've navigated my professional journey. I've also been privileged to be invited to the table on numerous occasions, where my insights and perspectives have been valued,” Paola explains. She goes on to discuss how the inclusive and supportive environment she is surrounded by empowers her to thrive and contribute meaningfully as a leader and trailblazer for women in the industry. PREMIER takes pride in cultivating an atmosphere where every team member feels valued and empowered to be successful. Emily Kordick, Assistant Project Manager, shares "I appreciate the emphasis on teamwork and the opportunities for professional growth and development with the company's commitment to employee development and advancement.” Emily goes on to explain the importance of women in the workplace and the construction industry. “It is beneficial to have women in construction as they bring a different perspective and approach to projects, which can lead to innovative solutions.” Sandovar Stibal, PREMIER’s Preconstruction Administrator, furthers this by discussing her experience and the value of having women in the workplace. “ I would say entering the construction industry fell into my lap. It ended up giving me such a great opportunity as a woman returning to the workplace to enhance my skill set and use my experience here at PREMIER. “ Sandovar goes on to describe the positive impact she feels she has made on her team. “ I try to help in all situations by providing my life experience. We enjoy each other sincerely and have been working together to make a more streamlined and efficient product.” As Women In Construction Week 2024 draws to a close, we extend heartfelt appreciation to our women team members for their invaluable contributions and unwavering dedication to excellence. We are proud to have these women paving the way in the construction industry.
